RESPONSE METHOD
Response Theatre Company is hosting a week-long workshop to continue the development of a new movement technique for dancers and jazz theatre artists alike. Our aim is to combine the presence and awareness of Meisner- Acting Technique with physical movement, developing a way to transform verbal exercises into physical form. Our hope is that this new technique allows dancers to access a new way of practicing presence, accessing impulsive movement, and building a deeper relationship with their music and scene partners simultaneously.
We are looking for mature artists who have a genuine interest in combining the art of dance and acting together, to discover new pathways of mastering their craft. Artists must be available for the entire weeklong workshop, each full day for one full week. House Of Jazz: Artist Development Program is currently under development, and will return with a new look shortly! We will be taking 2025 off to focus on other projects.
​This professional program takes place over a four week period. Training includes 15+ different styles with 25+ educators covering 100+ years of jazz, along with four extensive study sessions including Jazz History, Personal Development, Career Development, and Artist Development.​
